The FA7666 is a set of electronic switches used to select and transition between two input power paths to a single output that are well suited for systems having multiple power sources. The FA7666 is a dual SINK-in power MUX switch with slew-rate controlled, low RDS(ON), with 30V high voltage rating, and is able to drive 5A continuous Current. The over current function protects the power source from over current or short circuit conditions. The power switch is controlled by an on/off input, which is capable of interfacing directly with low-voltage control signals. In FA7666, an on-chip load resistor is added for output fast discharge when switch is disable.
The power path supports OCP, SCP, OVP, RCP, and OTP features. The FLAGb signal remains asserted to indicate all above description fault events until the fault condition is removed and the device resumes normal operation. The FA7666 is designed to eliminate false fault reporting by using an internal deglitch circuit. Other features include a power-OK (POK) output that signals when the output voltage is ready.
