PMICs

Our portfolio provides multi-channel power management ICs (PMICs) with special features developed for the power requirements of various applications, including LCD-TV, Car Infotainment, and set-top box (STB).

Level Shift

Voltage level translators, or logic level shifts, solves incompatibility differences between different power domains. Our bidirectional voltage level translators implement automatic direction sensing for two-way level translation applications.

Load Switches

Load switches are a simple, easy-to-use and cost-effective way to turn on and off power supply rails. Our portfolio includes various current, voltage, channel, package, and timing options for a diverse range of applications, such as LV, HV, Fast Response, and SD Card. These devices have a slew-rate controlled turn-on characteristic (soft start) to eliminate inrush current and the resulting excessive voltage droop.

USB Type-C Solutions

Our USB Type-C portfolio offers the flexibility and integration required to design and implement products compatible with the latest standards for a diverse range of applications, including Type-C DFP controllers, VBUS power switches, port protectors, HV LDO for dead battery, and power MUX.

USB Type-A Solutions

Our USB Type-A portfolio offers the flexibility and integration required to design and implement products compatible with the latest standards for a diverse range of applications, including USB Charging Controller and VBUS power switch.

eFuse

Conventional fuses (glass tube fuses and chip fuses) protect circuits by fusing the built-in alloy parts due to Joule heat when the current exceeds the rated value. However, these physical fuses have disadvantages such as slow fusing time, indefinite breaking current, and the need for replacement work due to destruction by a single over-current event.
Unlike conventional fuses, the eFuse (electronic fuse) has a fast current blocking function because the MOSFET is quickly turned off when excessive current flows. In addition, it is not destroyed by a single over-current event and can be used repeatedly. Besides, it can merge various protection functions such as over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and short-circuit protection. Therefore, this product can reduce maintenance costs and recovery time for repairs.
Another advantage is that eFuse realizes much simpler circuit designs with fewer components and a smaller area than discrete parts.

Power Distribution Switches

A power distribution switch is an electronic switch specifically designed to control and protect the power outputs of multiple loads. It is commonly used in USB power switches, power rails in system modules, and power distribution systems requiring overcurrent protection. It typically incorporates a MOSFET with low on-resistance to reduce voltage drop and heat generation. Its functions include: allowing the system to control the power rails on and off using logic signals; automatically limiting current or shutting down the output to prevent power supply damage when the load is short-circuited or draws excessive current; automatically cutting off power when the chip temperature is too high to prevent overheating damage; and preventing load voltage from flowing back into the main power supply.

Linear Regulators

Low dropout linear regulators(LDOs) can be used in relatively low-power applications to convert a higher input voltage to a lower output voltage for use by the load.
FA has developed a series of LDOs for a wide range of applications, including battery-powered mobile applications, automotive applications, and computing applications. To select the correct linear regulator, you need to consider the application input and output voltage and load current conditions.
