Our type-A VBUS power distribution switch FA7623C is a low-loss power switch with an adjustable current limit to protect the power source connected to the USB Type-A port from overcurrent, short circuit, or output reverse-current conditions.
The power switch is controlled by an ON/OFF control input (EN/FLAGb bi-directional pin), which is capable of interfacing directly with low-voltage control signal. An external resistor is used to discharge the output when the switch is turned off.
The FA7623C provides an open-drain output (EN/FLAGb) pin that is asserted (active low) when over-current, short-circuit or over-temperature condition occurs. This output remains asserted until VIN voltage is below UVLO to reset the switch.
The FA7623C integrates a true reverse-current blocking function which protects the input source against current flow from output to input regardless of whether the switch is on or off. When the switch is turned on, whenever the output voltage exceeds the input voltage by 50mV, the FA7623C will turn off the power path immediately, this is the reverse current protection (RCP) function. Once RCP circuit is not active, the FA7623C resumes operation.
This product lineup provides two types of products: FA7623CNA6R is the auto-retry type, that is, the power switch recovers the circuit by itself; FA7623CMA6R is the latch-off type, that is, the recovery is performed through toggling the input power recycle to reset the power switch, so that customers can choose the appropriate power switch IC product according to their requirements.

The FA7623CMA6R and FA7623CNA6R are now available through authorized distributors in the TSOT-23-6L package. Full and custom quantity reels are available.
