The ultra-low on-resistance 6A load switch FA7656 with Power Good Indicator goes on the market
Hsinchu, November 12, 2025 -- Fortune Advanced Technology today launched its new low-voltage load switch IC FA7656 with Power Good (PG) Indicator
The low-voltage load switch product series of Fortune Advanced Technology includes six products: FA7601/FA7603/FA7607/FA7608/FA7640/FA7656. For more information, please refer to Home > Products > Load Switches > LV Load Switches.
The most significant feature of this IC is its Power Good (PG) indicator signal. As x86 CPU power supply voltages move towards lower and lower voltages, some future CPU power rails will need to rely on the power good indicator signal provided by the previous stage power supply to determine whether to enable them. The FA7656 can meet the design and application requirements of load switching for future CPU power supply applications.
The FA7656 is a small, ultra-low RON, low-voltage load switch supporting a maximum continuous current of 6A. It can be used in an input voltage range of 0.6V to VBIAS, in which the Bias Voltage (VBIAS) Range is 2.5V to 5.7V. In FA7656, a 50Ω on-chip load resistor is added for quick output discharge when the switch is turned off. In addition, the FA7656 provides an open-drain power good indicator output to notify the next stage power supply that its output voltage has reached the normal level.
Furthermore, the falling edge of the SNS pin voltage below a fixed SNS falling threshold is considered a fault case and causes the load switch to be disabled for 2 ms. After the 2 ms time, the switch is automatically re-enabled as long as the EN pin voltage is still above the fixed EN rising threshold. In the case that the SNS pin is being used to monitor VOUT or a downstream voltage, the restart helps to protect against excessive overcurrent if there is a quick short to GND.
Package and availability
The FA7656 is now available through authorized distributors in the DFN2x2-10L package. Full and custom quantity reels are available.
About Fortune Advanced Technology
Fortune Advanced Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2013 focusing on high-voltage mixed-signal power management solutions. We dedicate to meeting the emerging requirements for lower power consumption at the standby stage.
We have successfully developed the first application-oriented PMIC for TV/Monitor TV/STB applications.
It is a digitally controlled multichannel PMIC capable of achieving total 0.15Watt standby power consumption under 230VAC for the whole TV system, which is at the forefront of the IC design industry. Based on this technology, we have successively developed diverse and competitive products widely used in LCD TV, motherboards/AIO, networked communication devices/STB, notebooks computers, and other fields.
We hope to grow into the best power partner to provide high-efficiency and cost-effective power solutions to our customers. Aware of the adverse effects of global warming, we will continue to strive for energy saving.
